I am a Devon based artist concerned with heritage and landscape. My practice looks at our connection to a sense of place in ways that hopefully invite a playful interaction. After graduating from Plymouth College of Art in 2018 I found I am interested in a continuing exploration into painting and sculpture’s possibilities, through an investigation into an economy of their vocabulary. Pushing materials in different and often unexpected directions to exploit the idea of the surface and colour as a point of threshold, mediator or interruption to our viewing experience. Fascinated with how the play of natural light and shadow can dramatically alter a piece or place it firmly within its surroundings, current experiments have included producing three dimensional frameworks with experimentation in wood bending as well as casting in concrete, resin and plastics.
