Jacqueline 'Peg' Jarvis

Jacqueline

I have lived in North Cornwall for over forty years and graduated from Falmouth College of Art in 1996. followed by postgraduate studies at Exeter University. I am both painter and printmaker: the underlying theme of my studio work is the passage of time, whether this is a figure in motion or the continuously changing landscape. The social constructs of calendar and clock inform all my work as does poetry and literature. The visual imagery of the medieval world has likewise been an influence.

I have had many exhibitions over the years, a list of which can be found on my website. Despite frailty and the obstacles created by the passage of time, I continue to enjoy both an active studio practise and exhibition schedule where possible. The work shown here comes from two series:- the eight Crow etchings are loosely based on riddle fifty seven from the Exeter book of riddles; the watercolours are part of a calendar of a year’s Full Moons.
